On Friday, we headed to Wonderland to check out the gorgeous jewellery collections inspired by Tim Burton’s upcoming version of the Lewis Carroll children’s classic as designed by Tom Binns (see Related Content, right) and now we’re heading down the rabbit hole again in search of more Alice-influenced fashion. However, this time, we’re not talking jewellery (though we’d love a mini crown just like the one seen on Helena Bonham Carter’s Red Queen), or even accessories or shoes but the ultimate item in any Wonderland wardrobe – Alice’s dress. And forget the coy blue effort as seen on Burton’s Alice (In Treatment’s Mia Wasikowska); we’re taking imaginative inventions so out there as to give the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp) a run for his money!

The dress will be given a haute couture flavour by a number of top designers who’ve been enlisted by swanky French department store, Printemps for a planned Alice in Wonderland-themed window installation, due to be unveiled to the public next February, coinciding with both the movie’s release (5th March) and Paris Fashion Week.

And who are the names so far confirmed to be working their Wonderland wizardry? Step forward Brit bad boy Alexander McQueen, Scottish sizzler Christopher Kane, avant garde Belgian Martin Margiela, his countrywoman, the gothic-loving Ann Demeulemeester, colour crazy Bernhard Willhelm, Manish Arora known for a kitsch campness and Colombian Haider Ackermann famous for abstracts.

Sounds like we’re going to get some truly innovative and exciting versions of the famous Alice dress, we just hope they’re all respectable enough to wear to a tea party!
