Fashion fix: Vintage Nathan Turk western shirt from Superbad
Posted by Team Boxwish 5 months ago
Back in 50s showbiz circles, if you wanted a western shirt you went to Nathan Turk. He included the likes of Elvis Presley and Roger Rogers among his celebrity clientele and now, years later, his clothes have now become much sought after vintage pieces with Hollywood still happily flying this fashion flag flag. And one such example of Turk’s retro stylings turned up onscreen in 2007’s comedy smash, Superbad. It’s the blue western shirt as modelled on Jonah Hill’s character, Seth and though this exact one is no longer available, we’ve tracked down a lookalike that we think is sure to have all McLovins drooling with jealousy.
Just try and spot the difference between the onscreen original and this incredibly accurate version from the suitably named, The Wild Cowboy website. It even brags in the product blurb of the uncanny resemblance between the two, the only compromise coming in the colour as it’s not available in red, but a smart-looking royal blue. It boasts the same white piping, smile chest pockets and number of yokes making it one helluva cool cinematic shirt.
But you’ve got to be quick. Only a limited amount of stock is available and as the shirt is no longer in production, once they’ve all gone, they’ve gone for good. Sadly this is already the case in some sizes, extra-large and 2x-extra-large (they do suggest alternatives), however there are still numbers in medium (approximately a 40-inch chest) and large (a 42-inch chest), so if you have a hankering for some comedy clobber, or know someone who would love the shirt as a Christmas gift, get in there now!
