Darth Vader opens trading at New York Stock Exchange

Last month, Snoop Dogg opened trading at the New York Stock Exchange; the Grammy-nominated rapper and reality TV star was apparently chosen for the honour in a bid to make business appealing to young people. And while Snoop certainly has his fans, this month’s bell-ringer is a little more persuasive in his powers being none other than the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader.
The Star Wars villain appeared at the New York Stock Exchange yesterday to preside over the ringing of the opening bell, but to deter any cocky Jedi from planning an attack during this rare public showing, the Supreme Commander was dutifully flanked by a quartet of stormtrooper henchmen.
He was also accompanied by Howard Roffman, the president of Lucas Licensing, a subsidiary of Star Wars creator, George Lucas’s production company, Lucasfilm, while R2-D2 happily whirled around the trading floor.
It’s estimated that the opening of trading at the NYSE attracts an audience of upward of 100 million people across the world. But surely this number would skyrocket if broadcast for Vader’s Galactic Empire to view his big moment. That’s if you can get a good reception, we hear the galaxy’s, far, far away.
See the moment below.
