Biography: The major force behind the three Volturi leaders, Aro is blessed with the ability to read a person's every thought by touching them. The Volturi assumed control over the vampiric world from the Romanian coven centuries ago and ever since have ruled with an iron fist. Aro is described as having translucent, onion-like skin and piercing red eyes, a colour unlike those of the Cullens due to his feeding on human blood. He loves recruiting other gifted vampires to his coven and is characterised by his cheery demeanour, polite manners and thirst for power.
