Michael Sheen
Person Information
Name: Michael Sheen
Biography: With a part-time professional Jack Nicholson look-alike for a father, it’s no wonder that Michael Sheen (OBE) turned down a trial at Arsenal FC in his early years and pursued his interest in theatre. After leaving school, Sheen studied acting at the National Youth Theatre of Wales and went on to train at the internationally renowned Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. He soon established himself as one of the most promising talents on the theatrical scene racking up an impressive list of roles including Mozart in Peter Shaffer's play Amadeus (1999). With an equally impressive list of television and film roles to date and a few awards under his belt, Sheen has more recently become best known for his portrayals of well-known public figures: Tony Blair in The Deal (2003) and The Queen (2006), David Frost in both the stage production and film version of Frost/Nixon (2006 & 2008), and football manager Brian Clough in The Damned United (2009) - turns out football didn’t totally fall to the wayside. The welsh actor plays the vampire Aro in the second instalment of the Twilight film series, New Moon (2009).
