Edi Gathegi

Name: Edi Gathegi

Biography: Born in Kenya, but raised in California, Edi Gathegi was bitten by the acting bug when studying at the University of California. He followed this up by completing the graduate school acting program at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University before moving into theatrical work. His time spent treading the boards took in a number of Shakespeare classics such as Othello until 2006 saw him make his screen debut in mad-cap actioner Crank (2006). He followed this up with supporting roles in other high-profile projects like Gone Baby Gone and TV's House and in 2008 was cast as dreadlocked Nomad vampire, Laurent in Twilight. Edi reprises the role in The Twilight Saga: New Moon and will be continuing his medical acting as seen in House with new TV drama, Operating Instructions.
