Unleash your inner Batman and nab a part in new superhero movie
Posted by Team Boxwish 4 months ago
Ever gotten a little too carried away when dressing up as Batman for Halloween? Found yourself pretending to be Wolverine when hitting the weights at the gym or growing a goatee like Tony Stark? Yes, we feel you, Boxwishers. Superheroes are by their very definition pretty special, super even and who wouldn’t want a piece of that? Superman even makes wearing red pants over blue tights look cool and that’s no mean feat. Well, it could be time to unleash your inner comic book character as Scottish production company, Strange Boat Productions is currently working on a new superhero movie called Electric Man and is looking for people to invest in the small-budget project, for which they’ll score an appearance in the film.
The feature-length comedy/ drama is being billed as “The Maltese Falcon meets Clerks in which two twenty-something under-achievers discover one of the rarest comics in the world.” Sounds intriguing. The team behind the project, which is still in pre-production and hopes to shoot in Edinburgh early next year, includes producer Ellen Jackson (TV’s Coast) and award-winning rising star David Barras in the director’s chair and they’re looking to fund it with support from the wider film community.
For £500 investment, you can feature in the movie, get your name on the credits and enjoy other perks such as premiere tickets and free copies of the DVD, while for the lesser amounts of £200 and £100; you can receive email updates and poster prints. It certainly makes for an unusual proposition and for superhero lovers with deep pockets or film fans in the Edinburgh area, could prove a fun and promising investment. Maybe they should tap up Bruce Wayne, Tony Stark or Lex Luther…
