The Twilight Saga: New Moon score available to pre-order

Film composer Carter Burwell did a fantastic job on the score for Twilight, his blend of tender romance and impending danger, really nailing the tone of the Stephenie Meyer modern classic; however like so many aspects of the franchise this is another role that has traded hands as the films progress. So for The Twilight Saga: New Moon it’s goodbye to Burwell (whose next work will be heard in the music-tastic Where the Wild Things Are) and a big Boxwish hello to the twice Oscar-nominated French composer Alexandre Desplat, whose previous credentials include The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Golden Compass and Coco Before Chanel. And now Twifans can pre-order the score on Amazon.com.
We’ve been so consumed with news about the soundtrack to the second instalment of the unlikely love affair between human Bella (Kristen Stewart) and vampire Edward (Robert Pattinson) that the score has kinda gone under the radar, but now there is a date for your diaries – Tuesday 24th November. The CD will hit store shelves then, but if you simply can’t wait pre-order it on Amazon.com for a very reasonable $14.99 at the link below. As yet, there’s no sign of it on British online retailers but we’ll try to keep you posted when it will be available here in Blighty.
So what should we hope for from it? A new sound and change in direction, like that of the soundtrack trading rock for indie, or a more seamless continuation of Burwell’s contribution? Let us know what you reckon with a comment below.
