The Twilight Saga: New Moon's first trailer provides fashion first look

We’re not going to discuss anything not revealed in the trailer, but if you want to remain in the dark about New Moon, this is your time to back up and go check out another blog post. Still with us? Cool. Getting back to the trailer, it delivers one of the scenes that all Twifans are desperate to see realised – Bella’s (Kristen Stewart) birthday scene. We see the happy set-up, the presents, the cake and whoops – Jasper (Jackson Rathbone) lose it over a paper cut and the chaos that ensues. There’s also Laurent (Edi Gathegi) on full-on vampire mode and a juicy glimpse of Taylor Lautner’s Jacob Black going from human to werewolf in seconds flat.

It’s one tasty teaser and has well and truly whetted our appetite for more, but while other sites will undoubtedly dissect every aspect of it, we’re most concerned here at Boxwish with some of the fashions on show. Starting with Bella, we get the Billabong Hannah jacket that is causing such a storm and she’s staying true to her opal ring, hairband and orange backpack. There’s also a stunning green dress and black bolero jacket for the party and a tan hooded coat as seen when Edward (Robert Pattinson) says a sad goodbye in the forest.

The party sees all the Cullens scrub up nicely. Edward looks as sophisticated as usual in a formal dark blue shirt, worn open at the collar with a tweed-looking dark grey blazer (the hair blissfully intact!) Emmett (Kellan Lutz) is ditching the white sporty vibe from Twilight for a more tailored waistcoat look as glimpsed offset a while back and the ladies look great in purple dresses – Alice (Ashley Greene) in a sleeveless satin V-neck, Esme (Elizabeth Reaser) also sleeveless with arm and chest ruffle detailing and Rosalie (Nikki Reed) in the strappy black seen here. Jasper’s ensemble also matches the purple theme with a purple shirt underneath a grey V-neck jumper, though that of Carlisle (Peter Facinelli) is less easy to differentiate in the dark and brief shots involving his character.

In contrast to the Cullen’s smart sophistication is Jacob in a muscle tee, black shorts and trainers (though not for long when his wolf side takes over!), though more eyes will probably be on the mass of muscles Taylor Lautner has built up since we last saw Jacob.

There are further fashion issues at play – new wigs for Alice, Esme, Jasper and Rosalie and a shorn style for Jacob and we’re get to all that soon enough. But for now, check out the teaser trailer below and pick out your new fashion favourites!
