Actress Nikki Reed who plays the gorgeous Rosalie in The Twilight Saga had a hard time when it came to styling her into the image of the pouting Cullen sibling for Twilight. Why? Because she had to dye her naturally brunette locks blonde for the role, a process that took 36 hours and resulted in her hair falling out. Understandably, Nikki was loathe to repeat this for The Twilight Saga: New Moon and having been very vocal about what she perceived to be mistakes in the Cullens’ styling in Twilight, she and her fellow immortals are now working a revamped (ho!) look in New Moon.

The most marked change comes in the hair department, where Nikki is now hiding her hair under a luscious and long blonde wig, created by hand by wig maker, Stacey Butterworth. Once in place, key hairstylist Thom McIntyre then dampened it before setting the wig in rollers and pin curls and blowing dry for a soft, voluminous wave. Only a dash of styling was then required, namely brushing through the curls and working in some grooming serum.

Again, there were changes afoot when it came to the make-up department, this time overseen by key make-up artist, Norma Hill-Patton. Working with Nikki’s warm skin tone, she applied an olive-coloured liquid foundation and finished with matching powder. Like Ashley Greene (aka Alice Cullen), Nikki’s features were then brought out with subtle sculpting along the side of her cheeks and nose.

Hill-Patton then applied lashings of black mascara and black pencil around Nikki’s eyes for a dramatic look, with lavender eye shadow for a muted touch of colour across the eyelids complemented by a darker shade of purple in the corners. And finally, the lips were defined with a coffee-shaded lip pencil. All easy to achieve steps that when worked together create the very vision of goth glamour.
