Sarah Jessica Parker begins filming for Sex and the City 2

The first of three outfits was a gorgeous white Halston dress which, teamed with Christian Louboutin Pigalle gold sequinned heels and a Chanel clutch, gave Carrie a smart, sophisticated Manhattan look. Her first change saw her going a bit more casual with a purple crepe dress and Christian Louboutin shoes again, but this time a more simple pair of T-bars. Armed with a black sunhat and huge pink handbag she was reportedly filming a romantic scene with new husband Mr. Big (Chris Noth). The third and final outfit has to be our favourite though, as Carrie has a flashback to when she first arrived in New York in the 80s. Sporting a grey slashneck sweater, white skinny jeans and an embarrassingly accurate perm (as well as a very distant memory for Carrie – flat shoes!) she looks like she’s auditioning for a part in the remake of Footloose.

Along with Carrie we see the return of her close friends Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Samantha (Kim Cattrall), who have yet to be seen filming scenes for the sequel. Speculation over the plot of the new film has sparked rumours about all four of the women’s relationships; all we can say is the first day of filming looked suitably stylish. And with costume designer Patricia Field watching closely throughout the shoot we can assume that the rest of the filming will follow stylishly in Carrie’s Louboutin-clad footsteps.
