Hallmark reveals first look at Twilight greeting cards
Posted by Team Boxwish 8 months ago
For some people birthday cards are the boring, less fun accessory to the actual birthday present; something you quickly get through before ripping at the shiny paper that promises a treat inside. However this could all be about to change as Hallmark, the greetings card giant has given the humble card a movie makeover and not just any movie, but Twilight. Yes, they’ve revealed a whole range of cards inspired by the Stephenie Meyer saga featuring the likenesses of the movie’s stars including Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and many more of the vampiric Cullen clan. Suddenly counting down the days until your next birthday? Thought so. Click over for more.
The birthday cards will be released into US stores through September, though there’s no news yet on whether we folks in the UK can expect to get them any time soon. There are also special ones for occasions such as Halloween and Valentine’s Day adding to what is already quite a tasty range, with individual portraits allowing you to choose depending on character or ensemble images for those that like everyone. They each have cool phrases that take the form of character quotes imbued with birthday talk and vary according to mood.
Opt for the romantic embrace between Bella and Edward (“I don’t have the strength to stay away from you… and I hope you think that’s a good thing”), or the intense broodiness of Edward alone saying: “I’d never forget your birthday. It’s almost like I can read minds or something.” The rivalry between Jacob and Edward isn’t forgotten with cards ideal for champions of either Team Jacob or Team Edward and the Cullen siblings each have their own, capturing all the drama, romance and spooky charms Twifans expect.
Interestingly, the pictures are a mix of those from Twilight and from its upcoming sequel The Twilight Saga: New Moon and if the cards alone aren’t enough, they will also come with detachable bookmarks, sheets of stickers and built-in music players playing excerpts from the Twilight soundtrack. No news as yet on prices, but these are more than your bog-standard greeting cards and as such should excite even the staunchest card-hater.
