Fashion fix of the week: Real Deal Brazil tarp hat from Zombieland
Posted by Team Boxwish 6 months ago
More often than not fashion is the last thing on your mind whilst fighting your way through a zombie-infested planet. Not for Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) in new flesh-eating monster movie Zombieland, who sports a cool yet practical hat to battle the infected population. Yesterday we brought you the Cadillac Escapade from the film, but if you’re looking for some more practical Zombieland merchandise why not get yourself Tallahassee’s awesome tarp hat.
The hat itself is made of recycled canvas tarpaulins from Brazilian cargo trucks and so each is unique. As they’re crafted from many different pieces of tarp there are often patches of different colours, holes, seams and some even sport Portuguese writing, which all make them even more interesting. Even the shapeable wire brim is made of old truck tires, and the whole item is expertly hand sewn by Brazilian locals. Being washable and almost indestructible also makes it a great choice for travelling the country killing zombies, which can get a bit messy.
Not only will you be emulating Tallahassee’s laid back style but wearing something totally recycled and supporting local Brazilian traders. We think this would make the perfect Halloween costume for someone looking for a modern and original idea; just grab your black leather jacket (or snakeskin one if you’re feeling daring) and replica shotgun to complete the look. Even creators The Real Deal say: “Don’t take care of this hat, it will take care of you…even against zombies!”
