On her trip to Volterra, Italy in The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Alice Cullen (Ashley Greene) is clearly taking a leaf out of Ron Burgundy’s book with her wardrobe choices. What are we talking about? Only that we’ve spotted that the pint-sized fashionista is indeed applying the 70s anchorman’s (much misunderstood principle) of “when in Rome…” by sporting a pair of gloves from Italian luxury label, Gala. Famed for their commitment to prestige and past production techniques from yonder year, the brand isn’t a regular on the big screen but that hasn’t deterred ballsy bloodsucker Alice from wearing a stunning dark red pair in the Stephenie Meyer romance sequel. And while they can be hard to track down (maybe we should get New Moon’s skilled Volturi vampire tracker, Demetri (Charlie Bewley), pictured, on the case!), we’ve rustled up some more accessible lookalikes.

These high street versions radiate all the same elegance and finesse of Alice’s and all without the designer price tag. For those of you shopping in the US, how’s about a Betmar pair that come in the same scarlet shade as Alice’s as well as a more muted black, and all for the price of just $39.95 – a steal for such quality leather. They’ve been incredibly well received by many that have purchased them with the Internet full of glowing reviews that wax lyrical about the comfort, warmth and luxurious fit.

In a similar vein are some from Amazon.com, which at $53.95 are a bit more expensive, but this hike is pricing is thanks to them being lined with cashmere. A swanky addition that Alice would surely approve of. Or if shopping in the UK, department store Debenhams offer a pleated pair that are just as sleek though at just £18, don’t dent your bank balance too much.
