Daniel Craig's 007 inspires ice lolly

An ice cream company commissioned a survey that asked over 1,000 women which male celebrity they would like on the end of a stick and coming up trumps was Craig as super-spy James Bond. The actor beat fellow leading men Jude Law (2nd) and Hugh Grant (3rd) to the honour and his prize? Being immortalised in the shape of an ice lolly, of course.

Dubbed the “license to chill” smoothie, the limited edition ice lolly produced by Del Monte Superfruit Smoothies recreates the toned torso of Craig as Bond and are now on sale as part of the first National Ice Cream Week which began yesterday and runs until Sunday 7th June. The lolly comes in three flavours – blueberry, pomegranate and cranberry (what’s wrong with old favourites like strawberry?) and like the lean MI6 agent himself, make quite a healthy snack with less than 100 calories per lolly.

Spokesman Matt O’Connor commented: “Daniel Craig topped our poll of Britain’s coolest celebrities and thanks to our Del Monte lolly replica he is officially immortalised as super smooth and licensed to chill.”

It’s certainly a bizarre idea and here at Boxwish we think it’s fab. The lolly is eerily lifelike (apart from the purple colour) and it’s just what the doctor ordered with the country baking in a mini heat wave. Okay, so maybe guys won’t want to lock their lips around Daniel Craig’s buff bod, but I’m sure ladies will more than compensate. And it could have been worse – seventh on the coolest smoothie poll was Tory leader David Cameron!
