Celebrated designers sketch Bella’s wedding dress for The Twilight Saga
Posted by Team Boxwish 7 months ago
PLOT SPOILERS! Talk about ahead of the game. The second instalment of everyone’s favourite vampire movie series, The Twilight Saga: New Moon hasn’t even hit cinemas yet (hurry up please!), but some frenzied fashion designers have been playing up to the huge hype and have drawn some pretty exciting doodles of the wedding gown they think should grace the lovely Bella (played by Kristen Stewart) in the (rumoured) fourth film, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.
10 designers have got in on the act including Zac Posen (who designed all three bridesmaid’s dresses in Sex and the City), the pair of fashionistas known as Badgley Mischka (who’ve dressed Catherine Zeta-Jones and Jennifer Lopez), and Project Runway winner Christian Siriano. We’re going to be honest here, some of the dresses are downright weird, (notably quirky trend-setter Bryan Reyes’s, which resembles a monstrous creature from the deep! Or maybe we’re just not looking at it right), but others look like they might just be perfect for Bella’s understated, delicate tastes.
Max Azria’s Victorian long-sleeved embroidered creation would fit right at home next to the 100-year-old-plus gentlemanly bloodsucker Edward Cullen (played by Robert Pattinson), whilst Lela Rose’s and Monique Lhullier’s laced antique-look efforts would be exquisite among the fall leaves of Forks, Washington (where Bella gets hitched in the fourth novel Breaking Dawn).
Our personal favourite here at Boxwish however, is the design by Christian Siriano, fittingly combining modern funky flare with traditional features. This chap’s interpretation boasts a boned lace corset with a seductive low back and a ruffled, tiered skirt which would certainly fit with the “just stepped out of an Austen movie” dress described in the fourth and final book. As the designer says himself, “It’s a true turn of the century gown, full of gothic and glamorous fullness in the skirt which flows as she moves. The gown is mysterious and feminine, perfect for a dream wedding.”
So, what do the rest of you Twifans think to these sketches? Can you see Bella wearing any of them and by extension, would you fancy donning one to recreate your own Twilight romance? See all the stunning creations, released just in time for the buzz surrounding the filming of the third film, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse in Vancouver, at InStyle (link below).
Right, enough Hollywood rumour and speculation, now official confirmation of that fourth movie please…
