Steal Alice's look: Her make-up secrets from The Twilight Saga: New Moon
Posted by Team Boxwish 4 months ago
Bella (Kristen Stewart) might be the pretty girl next door that everyone relates to, but Alice Cullen (played by Ashley Greene) is The Twilight Saga’s style savvy fashionista. Being an immortal, she is blessed with classical good looks and the combination of her perky personality and fashion flair make her the one to watch in Forks. We love Alice’s vampy make-up in The Twilight Saga: New Moon, the work of key make-up stylist, Norma Patton-Hill (replacing Jeanne Van Phue who worked on Twilight) and if you do too, click over to find out how she achieves it.
Like her Cullen siblings, Alice’s skin is pale and flawless and to create this Hill-Patton employed a porcelain-coloured liquid foundation and pale powder. Once this base was in place, she started highlighting the facial features by shading beneath Ashley’s cheekbones and along the sides of her nose, this gently adding sculpted but not-too-obvious definition. “It really gave everyone a statuesque look,” says Hill-Patton, of this technique applied not just to Ashley but all the other actors starring as Cullen vampires in The Twilight Saga: New Moon.
To create the smoky eye look of the Cullens, Patton-Hill blended light pink and dusty rose eyeshadows, outlining with a black eyeliner. She finished by going heavy with a black mascara and then played up the lash effect with Ardell DuraLash Flare false eyelashes in Short Black.
Lastly came her lips and Hill-Patton found that “Ashley’s got good colour to her lips,” adding, “and the shape is really full, so that’s a key component.” She lined the lips with a dark beige pencil and then filled this in with a natural lip colour, namely the MAC lip gloss in Plum Parfait shade (sadly, now discontinued).
